Update to Electronic sit-in

in

This is an update on our original article posted at http://indymedia.org.nz/newswire/display/17397/index.php concerning the upcoming cyber sit-in on the Government Foreshore and Seabed website.

Well the response has been nothing short of overwhelming. We are absolutetly amazed at how many people have indicated their participation in supporting our marchers as they hikoi to Poneke in the next few days.

A reminder that although we said just the 5th of May, this may be extended to the 6th of May depending on how events go on the day.

For those media wanting to contact myself or other organisors, I have been strongly advised not to make direct contact with any media but rather through a 3rd party like a chat forum etc. So we have decided to hold an online discussion in the next few days, venue to be announced.

Watch this thread for more updates.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

Nga mihinui, Nga mihi aroha kia koutou katoa. What an awesome site to see some many people involved in this hikoi. I have emailed quite a few of our whanau that are all around the world to tell them to download this website so that they can be kept up to date of whats going on at home here in Aotearoa. Kia Kaha. We'll be there at Parliament.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

This is a great idea. It warms the ngakau to know that the whanau living overseas is joining in with us in taking on the Government and its hara against our people.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

God dag, jeg heter Jørgen and i like to come to new zealand and stand in march and fight with maori and throw rocks at the police but sorry no kroner...but now we show support on the day.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

Sit ins are illegal, anyone caught participating in one will be named as 'evil like Tarryana Terrier' and will be sent 4 full CD's of myself singing in my high pitched baratone singing voice.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

Please disregard my vandalism comments in the NZ Herald, as a cross dresser and hurter of lost animals, I am prone to talking out my arse.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

Was reading the Herald the other day - http://www.nzherald.co.nz/storydisplay.cfm?storyID=3563623

So we thought we'd hand TUHA that websites head on a lance. (I doubt the cops would mind, they wanted that shit deleted anyway)

So...BlackM@sk presents:
http://www.phreak.co.uk/phreak/phorum/down.php

===============================================
30th April, 2004
The pHorums are down right now because somebody is currently bombing with them with the message 'Seabed and Foreshore is Maori Land.'

pHreak has nothing to do with New Zealand, nor do we have any interest in who their lands belong to (all property is theft, natch), but we assume that the person who's doing this isn't a Maori for reasons that should be obvious - except to the person who's doing it. In fact they're probably having an orgasm just reading this, because it means that somebody has at last taken notice of them, even if they're completely anonymous and getting this recognition at the expense of some innocent Maoris.

Hmm. We may be sad, but thank fuck we're not as sad as that.

Meanwhile, this seems to be a good opportunity to clear out the pHorums of all the fake ID crap that's been piling up. Really, you people are hilarious, but your posts are toast, as we in the bulletin board biz like to say.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

I heard Malatesta on radio Waatea603 this morning talking to one of the presenters about the sit in. I was very impressed with the whakaaro behind this action, very impressed (shakes head). Just had to come here and say so.

also to the admin of indymedia, there is an error in one of the links on the main feature, it goes to a dead page.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

Apologies for posting this here...I work for SBS and ABC radio stations in Sydney and am looking for someone involved in the cyber sit-in to do a short interview.

You could be anonymous if necessary, it'd just be good to let people over here know what's going on with the seabed/foreshore debate.

Broken link

Heemi: where's the broken link?

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

See where it says "Update to Electronic sit-in | Read the full article" at the bottom of the feature, click on 'read full article' and it comes up with a databse error or something.

Broken link II

Oh righto, there was a problem with that but it was fixed a few days ago.

Tena tatou katoa nga iwi o te motu. E ai ki a Bob Marley " How long shall they kill our prophets, while we stand aside and look. Some say its just a part of it, we got to fulfil the book"
Are we to continue to dance to the beat of the Crown as good little natives should? Remember the sacrifices our tupuna made before us, they, who were continually stripped of all things Maori, the loss of our language, our whakapapa. No reira ka whawhai tonu matou ake ake tonu. Tautoko mai
For those before us, and for those who are yet to come.

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

Kia ora koutou, I'm stuck in pending monsoons in Chennai, India and have just been sent the news but can't be there 'cos we're working on another project (bluddy activism). I want to come home and help!!!! I can't even connect to the sit-in site as it seems it's been pulled - how surprising.
So here is my support and I'll be thinking of everyone from this side of the world and praying some large brick falls on the head of a certain female PM.
Kia kaha.

Re: Electronic sit-in

i have been anxiously observing the developments regarding the Foreshore and Seabed Legislation from afar, and haver been shocked and dismayed to see the manner in which Aotearoa's goverment have behaved.

I would like to lend my support to the sit-in and the hikoi.
though I am not able march in person, as I'm in latvia, I would still like to be able to help in some way.
have been trying to download the script: http://indymedia.org.nz/usermedia/application/10/takutai.zip
but the link is broken.

any ideas of when it might be back up?

hia kaha.

Heemi: this should be fixed for now.

Honor: I've updated the link to one that works - http://indymedia.org.nz/usermedia/application/8/17397_takutai.zip

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

We would like to participate in the sit-in, but await the proxy links as we are in NZ and would like to take the precaution you have mentioned. How or where do we get them from?

Re: Update to Electronic sit-in

I totally agreed about this majot concern, well lets see how possible this for our new plan. Any one ever tried for the new document shredding system, which include all types of document destruction also.
