Aro Park Prohibition Free on J-Day
A J-Day Dak-mob turned Wellington's Aro Park into a prohibition free zone at High Noon.
About 30 people including NORML activists, Libertarianz electioneers, prohibition victims and general tokers gathered in Wellington's Te Aro Park at high noon, ready to fight for their right to party.
Thanks to a couple of well-prepared locals with a portable gas stove and a pair of blackened knives the dak-mobbers were able to experience a taste of freedom. Coffee provided by the Libz and 3 large pizzas from Hell fueled energetic discussion about the ethics and practicality of legalising cannabis and other drugs.
Copies of NORML news, 'know your rights' leaflets and pro-legalization stickers were distributed, contacts were taken down and plans laid to gather the Poneke pot-smoking massive for more events later in the year.
