Action against police rapists - Wellington
Vigil 5.30pm tomorrow (Friday 2 March) outside the High Court (Molesworth St, Opposite parliament).
March to demand justice for rape survivors 5.30pm Thursday 8 March (International Women's Day) meet at Civic Square.
Public Meeting to give people who want to take further actions of any sort around this issue an opportunity to meet and plan. 6pm Monday 12 March St John's Hall, Willis St (venue to be confirmed).
If you want to get involved with organising these events contact lenka@riseup.net. Or come along to help out:
Publicity meet 8pm Sunday Night 128 Abel Smith St (no need to bring anything)
Planning and resource-making 7pm Tuesday Night 128 Abel Smith St (bring materials for banners, effigies etc.)
The planning and resource making meeting is women only, everything else is open to all (although we would expect some of groups the small groups during the public meeting will choose to be women only).
The current events are being organised by an ad hoc group. The reason we're organising the public meeting is that we want to help build on-going action to demand justice for rape survivors, and stopping rape.

Re: Action against police rapists - Wellington
I thought it went well outside the High Court today. Lot of different faces. Consequent mix of ideas. Many bus drivers responded to the "toot for support" sign when it went up later on in the event.
Not a single cop showed ( not while I was there anyway). Probably an astute move on their part.
There was a feeling of solid determination among the participants this afternoon, good build uptowards the march.
