Solidarity demo in Auckland this morning

in

Solidarity with All Political Prisoners;

This morning at 9:00 around 100 friends and family gathered outside Auckland District Court to show their support and solidarity with the five prisoners currently waiting on possible bail.

The mood of the crowd was peaceful and supportive, as many held placards and banners while others served free food, played music and handed out flyers. There was significant media coverage, including TV 1, 3, Maori TV, and various print.

The previous evening there had been a meeting at Unite where a Defense Committee was formed, and a protest planned in Auckland this Saturday October 20th at 12:00 noon in Aotea Square.

More information to come on the court results as they happen

Re: Solidarity demo in Auckland this morning

How will any of this "(re)action" actually stop a tyrannical/oppressive regime such as what NZ has increasingly experienced since 1999??
