We at the Flat Earth Society have spent so many years out in the cold, shunned by Government, science and most of society. But on Friday night a glimmer of hope appeared for us in the form of the climate sceptic group, the NZ Climate Science Coalition. They were hosting a talk by the Australian climate sceptic (and stratigraphist which is about rock layering) Bob Carter, at the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron in Auckland.

We couldn't afford the dinner, so we got a little appeal letter together for the good chaps of the NZCSC.
We dressed in the outfits from our favourite time – the medieval warm period – and went off down to Westhaven.
Our appeal goes like this: The myth that the earth is round has been the result of a sustained conspiracy by both Governments and the likes of NASA for centuries. Flat Earthers like us have continued the battle, but we've been a lone voice.
We've noticed the same sort of line is coming from the climate skeptics. They, too, see the huge conspiracy by the IPCC and world governments who are trying to tell them that climate change is real and has already begun. So why not get the two organizations together? Why not join forces? This was the intention of our outing.
So how did we get on? The reaction was largely one of confusion, with a both hilarity and anger in equal doses.
People thought we were protestors - HELL, NO, we said – we seek solidarity, we said! We are reaching out in friendship! Some really didn't believe us. Terry Dunleavy (of the international climate science coalition fame] was, for some reason, apoplectic.
It was a real shame we didn't get to see Bob Carter – as an expert in stratigraphy, (rock layers), we thought he'd be quite au fait with a number of our arguments and could be very useful to our cause.
Don Brash was there - which wasn't very surprising. We had already noted how uncomfortable he was (along with a number of other members of the national party, including its leader) with the concept of global warming. It must be a relief that he no longer has to pretend to care.

Global warming is a hoax and alarmists are ignorant. Climate change is not a hoax. The climate is going to change, who can deny that? Beleiving the IPCC, Al Gore & any other polotically drivevn scientist that tells us there is cause for alarm is just submitting to the fear of change. It's pretty simple.

If global warming was real why did Al Gore lie 9 times in his inconvenient truth doco?
Eg. the statement "sea level will rise by 20 ft by 2100" when actually it may rise by up to 20 inches.
Global warming alarmism is about the most inconvenient truth I know of. You don't realise that all this will mean is a transfer of wealth with the same cronies running things as always, but getting richer by creating rules to suit themselves. Good on you, way to screw us over.

BONUS: An Inconvenient Truth 2: Suggested Film Titles!
So last you heard, Al Gore’s propaganda film, ‘A Collection of Convenient Outright Lies’ ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ was found to contain at least 9 serious errors… By the British High Court no less.
Now, ramp that up to at least 35 serious errors.
As I’ve learnt from Is It Getting Warmer, the Science and Public Policy Institute has reviewed all of Al Gore’s convenient misrepresentations and determined 35 key facts that Gore portrayed wrongly. The blog host also meticulously researched each of the SPPI’s criticisms and gives a rundown of the accuracy of each claim at this link.
Gore could have gotten his facts through his scientific incompetence, or perhaps by getting his information from only certain biased sources.
But my personal opinion is that Gore INTENTIONALLY LIES throughout the film. He is dishonest, manipulative, sneaky and utterly self-serving.
If you think my remarks are unfair and unfounded, just remember that Al Gore has been shown to change his stance 180-degrees and lie for personal political gain, he stands to profit immensely if governments enforce carbon offsets out of fear, and he totally does not subscribe to his own directives to us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
So yes, I do think he intentionally lies throughout his film, in order to spread hysteria and panic about global warming.
Below are the 35 errors pointed out by the SPPI article, with my short summary of the actual truths behind each dishonest fib. See the full explanations at Science and Public Policy Institute article:

Our old friend Tom Harris, energy-industry lobbyist turned, well, turned into a badly disguised energy-industry lobbyist, has gone international, taking over as executive director of the International Climate Science Coalition.
The ICSC appears to be a New Zealand-based version of the usual suspects, a group of self-proclaimed experts who do little or no research on climate change, but who can always make time to serve on the advisory board of any oily organization that is trying to forestall action on global warming.
ICSC offers no information as to the source of its funding, so we would be delighted if any freelance DeSmoggers out there can offer any insight into the history and economic roots of the organization.

It is time New Zealand said "The Emperor has no clothes" rather than what nice threads he is wearing. It is common knowledge that Global warming is hype and unfactual. The Earths climate is control by tides and solar activity....

I've researched "the problem" and found that it's a bunch of bollux. Al Gore lied to us & environmentalists think that this is their chance to finally stake their claim in the political arena. Growing biofuels in place of food is just the stupidist thing I've ever heard of. It takes oil to grow crops, so when all is said & done it takes 129 barrels of oil to produce 100 barrels of biofuel oil. This in a time of a global food shortage is retarded. To answer your question - I've been doing research on water-power & found that splitting hydrogen & oxygen from water is extremely easy, contrary to popular beleif. The hard thing is acquiring the patents & trying to make money off it. This exposes you to the power & inertia of the oil industry - they stand to be practically wiped out if this technology takes off.
It is not an easy thing to ruin the oil companies & put an end to their monopoly but to me this is just one part of the real solution we need to focus on. Worrying & informing people about CO2 is not helping. Addressing alternative energy sources is a start. This is my opinion. Sorry that my other post was so rude but I was in a bad mood & get pissed off at CO2 alarmists.

I've been studying and working on the problem for four years and have come to understand this argument from many angles, unlike someone like yourself who as far as I can see has a warped perspectuive because of your scientific 'Faith'. Claims of technological miracles have brough up more problems than solutions when it comes to energy overshadowing the consumption/political/social forces which lead to such disasters. There are plenty of scientific discrepencies (thats science) but the science as a whole tell us that man made global warming is a reality and the writing is on the wall, done, over thank you very much. Im sure the people who believed the world was flat had lots of fancy diagrams and the people who proved it wasnt had made a mistake or two but AS A WHOLE the science is done and dusted, now on with the job.

I argue that man-made global warming is not a reality, especially as the media portays it at the moment - blaming everything from erosion to hurricanes on CO2.
The effects of the CO2 in the atmosphere are still in question & some believe it will have an over all cooling effect. Many assumptions have been made and only time will tell so stop pretending like you know whats up. The science is biased, the media is biased & if you think otherwise you are pretty ignorant of the politics of both.
I think looking to "climate change" and CO2 reduction is too far removed from reality because while your busy getting busy over our tiny contribution to the "global problem" who is preventing the rain forests from being chopped down to make way for bio fuels etc?
In an otherwise perfect world I'd be right behind this idea but it's a joke given the current political climate. Any money we give towards this (in New Zealand) is anti-patriotic if you ask me. Helen Clarke has sold us out again to advance her post-NZ carreer with the UN.

We are about to commit to huge reduction targets which is going to see NZ's progress hampered big-time over the next few decades.
By 2025 we should have a better idea of the ecosystem but we really have no clue at the moment & the IPCC's models are a huge waste of money. The UN should be focusing on holding the UK/US military accountable for breaking international laws, not pushing propoganda onto the people.

The Kyoto bill is on the table and Big Business NZ is refusing to pay it. The way thisngs are going - the responsibility will be passed on to you and Big Business NZ will continue to use the atmosphere as a dumping ground. The information on the exxonsecrets website is well referenced so you can go do your own private investigations if u like. Your denier friends have been consistently been proven wrong and their cherry-picked data put back into context time and time again. Climate sceptick have been carrying out a coordinated campaign of mis-information since evidence of man-mande climate change began to suggest that big-business should be held accountable for its use of the atmosphere as a garbage dump - the writing is on the wall, the real scientists with the integrity to put their science up for scrutiny have been proven correct and the sceptics are an endangered species.

Unlike Durkin, Gore didn’t falsify data or trick interviewees 'The great global warming swindle'(see the wikipedia entry). In AIT, that judge ruled that there were 7 arguable points/errors and that it was “broadly accurate”.

On Monday 19th May the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine appeared before the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and announced that it has the signatures of more than 31,000 scientists including who agree that the human impact on global warming is overblown.
