Right wing extremist blog head returns to blogsphere with new tracking techniques
It has come to our attention that since returning to blogworld, rampant and untreated McCarthyism Syndrome suffering Trevor Loudon has embarked on a secret campaign to track users posting comments on his blog.
In a technique commonly used by right wing white supremacist blogs, Loudons technical crew that have remade his blog template, instead of storing the new images on the blogspot server, they have stored them on http://equipbiz.co.nz/ webserver thus making it possible to log views and IP addresses along with time stamps.

Thanks for the info, does anyone know if using TOR the anonymous rerouting tool get around it?
I would advise all activists to use TOR if they dont want sites to track them. Just google it and download it.

Actually I believe the post is about the ability to track IP addresses of users on a blog service that doesn't offer that service for bloggers.

While I can't be sure of that I can be sure that you've got some pretty harsh ideas, including being very anti abortion... although I'm sure you've never been pregnant yourself.

The Nazis were pro-abortion and euthanasia though - at least for the racially, socially or mentally disabled.

Just a point of interpretation probably. To say that they may be employing a technique used commonly by white nationalists is not technically saying he is a nazi, no more than say a person that uses the crane technique thus makes them a kung fu grandmaster.

I've for a very long time acted on the assumption against security when on the net, which is to assume you have no security unless it is explicitly clear the opposite is true. Comments, emails, history, private data, the lot. That anything with less than a PGP level of encryption is available to anyone (individuals, companies, agencies) that cares to invest the effort. There are, of course, techniques and technologies that can enhance your security, but these often lull the user into a false sense of heightened security, when the level of protection is quite low.
The internet is like a large window in front of a public street. Don't assume you have any privacy, and it can be easily broken into. Some people are exhibitionists, and that's fine. Just remember, don't do anything you don't want the whole world to see.

The problem with PGP is the same problem with any form of electronic communication, is when the masked armed grab teams raid your house because they just happened to be profiling every left group in the country, any emails you have received can be read on your emailer and recovered if you deleted them unless you use Eraser or one of those other Gutmann 35 times overwriters.

Calm down guys stop being so paranoid. So what if they get you IP address - change it! - there are heaps of programmes you can buy to hide/conceal or change your IP. Dial up changes your IP all the timne and you can buy a programme that will do the same for Broadband and change it as often as you like. Stop giving Trevor the satisfaction of getting you rattled. I don't think people are getting worked up about it as you describe, its just a note to say that Loudon has changed his tactics and is now seemedly interested in who is blogging on his previously anonymous blog.

I presume you meant to say the world was a "great" place without him.
Incidentally, there was a nice expose of Loudon and his ZAP mates (including Dave Henderson) in today's Press. Can't seem to find it online unfortunately.
