Constructive Anarchism in Aotearoa 2009 — please read!

in

With a new year comes a new opportunity to discuss and develop further anarchist organising in Aotearoa.

This pdf text— 'Constructive Anarchism in Aotearoa' — puts forward some ideas on constructive anarchist action, in order to encourage discussion. Please read, forward widely to anyone interested, and most importantly, respond!

The text is probably too long to place here in full, but it deals with ideas around constructive action we as anarchists can take in our current state of low visibility, especially in the workplace and in our communities. I've tried to write a text I've always wanted to read with regard to concrete anarchist action in NZ.

I hope this may help and encourage further anarchist organising, and towards the eventual federation of Anarchist groups in Aotearoa. The aim is not to dispute or disrupt current attempts at this, but to encourage cohesion and co-operation. Nor am I an expert!

Two main ideas are explored: Workplace struggle and Community development, or more specifically, the idea of Industrial Networks and Community Unions or Assemblies.

——————————————

The text is broken down into parts:

Anarchist Organisation

— Some basic ideas about labels, class and organising.
— Problems we face in Aotearoa.

Workplace Struggle

— Working within existing unions
— New unions vs existing unions
— Union bureaucracy
— Industrial Networks
— Working outside of the unions

Community Development

— Change from below
— Community unionism
— Community support

Creating A Class Struggle Focus

— AWSM/Platformist approach
— An alternative approach

Also included in a recommended reading list for those who may want to learn a whole heap more than the rantings of one person!

——————————————

PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS TEXT! It's not too long and pretty easy to read! Hopefully this will be in printed form soon, and maybe even re-printed in the upcoming Imminent Rebellion.

DISCUSSION OF THE TEXT is really important to me, and would like to hear what others think. I propose anyone who wants to discuss the ideas to login in and do it here at www.anarchism.org.nz, under the 'Organise' section, or to organise collectively some face-to-face discussion in the near future.

I am downloading your file and will contact you with some suggestions if the actions that we have planned will add something to your plans. I believe they will. Our planned actions are *visible* and *organised* and also fully legal.

We are TeamBridge Business Social Club. We are placed near the border with the nuclear armed DPRK. We work with the Chinese Movie industry that is based here in cooperation with security agencies - our brief is raise awareness of the terrorist threat from the trade in illicit plutonium - to bring to the attention of the NZ authorities that NZ has been targeted by terrorist organisations as a soft target and must take urgent steps to improve port security, including sending men here to help us on guard duty.

This is not a joke.

The other branch of the World Police (the CIA) for some reason unknown even to God does not want you to know this. Our communications with the NZ government are going nowhere. But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day and it passed through a Civil War along the way.

Are you clear?

Why do we discuss this through IndyMedia? Budget considerations, man. I have to pay soldiers (actors)! And its just a probe at this stage ... full media coverage in friendly media (China and Russia) at a later date, not-too-far-away.

Difficult to believe? Try suspending your disbelief for a little while and let me tell you a story [ at aliennews.teambridge.net ] that is coded but still accessible.

Regards,
paul

Hey Jared D - your PDF doesn't open for me, some problem with the download or the file is incomplete.

The admin@anarchism.org.nz address on the anarchism.org.nz site does not work either.

You may contact me directly at paul_s@teambridge.net

Best wishes for a successful, legal, and safe but effective advance in 2009.

Regards, paul

Wowee what a coincidence, we are Harry Potter and the 40 Thieves Club from the planet Caprica and we work with the Korean Pluck a Duck Foundation for the Cranially Stunted.

Certainly a very fruitful discussion so far...

Oh joy, 639kB of rules on how to be an anarchist.

Fail.

Re: Constructive Anarchism in Aotearoa 2009 — please read!

Hey anon,

They aren't rules, merely suggestions. Anarchy isn't about NO RULES, instead, I (and most others) understand it as NO RULERS. There is perfect sense in collective and free association and agreement between free individuals, including possible constructive work.

Also, if there are no rules (as your comment suggests), how can I (or anyone) have failed?

haven't worked out exactly what i think about the intricacies, but excellent to see ideas for concrete action being explored especially with regards to workplace activism and community development.
lets hope we can start building those bridges...

Looks like a honey trap to me ... counter-terrorist intelligence gathering. You've got be careful of anything in IndyMedia ... these guys are not team players. Do some research and find out who pays their bills ... go on, I dare ya. Do something useful and wake up from your dream.
