Support Zeal 320 workers - picket schedule.

in

As of midnight tonight, 240 Zeal crew will be locked out by Air New Zealand in response to their four day strike notice.

They're taking this action over the basic unfairness that sees them earning thousands of dollars a year less than crew employed directly by Air NZ doing the exact same work. After seven months of negotiating they have been left with no other option.

A background to the dispute is available here:

As part of the action the Zeal crew will be running a series of pickets over the next few days in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. If you can, please head down to one of these pickets and show your support.

Re: Support Zeal 320 workers - picket schedule.

thanks for posting this. why no pickets on friday or sunday in wellington? a lot of people who are tied up at work might be able to make a weekend picket. also, why no pickets outside the three largest cities? are all locked out zeal workers in those cities or in other ones as well?

Re: Re: Support Zeal 320 workers - picket schedule.

Zeal workers are only based out of these three centres. They're mostly in Auckland and Christchurch though so it's a bit smaller scale in Wellington. They are doing other actions over the weekend but this is the only public picket planned for Welly at this stage.
