I was around in the 70s, and I recommend Indymedia to all ages as an alternative and a stroppy coverage of opposition to power.
Since I managed (or was lucky enough) to evade any serious arrest during the 70s, I don't need any expert testimony at a retrial. But I will pass this offer on to others. It needs to be circulated, I think. After all, if anyone is involved in court battles, they're already 'stuck' to a very forceful and harmful mechanism in the apparatus of state power, so may as well use any tactic thats of immediate use, even if its a defeatist long-term strategy. I guess this can be termed a 'harm reduction' logic :-)
As for what cops are like, it must be hard to overcome all that brainwashing and group loyalty stuff, but better late than never. Telling truth to power ... and from the inside, ... seems useful for undermining the public perception of the legitimicy of police power to repress dissent.
Provided that in the process of trying to makes the courts and government acknowledge that cops were trained in corruption as an everyday policing tactic, these same state agencies don't learn more about details and networks than they already know!!
