Yes Jared, the bigger picture is important. But without having anything practical to say about the immediate issues that concern the working class that you want to overthrow capitalism you are never going to get a hearing for your discussion of the bigger picture. You brush aside burning issues because they are not revolutionary enough for you. You mock Maori TV, something which took decades for Maori activists to win, just because it doesn't seem revolutionary to you (I think saving te reo is actually a revolutionary achievement). You even trivialise the big drop in unemployment (which is not due to Labour but luck IMO) by saying that it desn't really matter if a workers has a job or not, cos he or she is still a slave. Well tell that to the freezing workers laid off in Dannevirke or the Feltex workers. Tell them they shouldn't be concerned with humdrum issues like jobs and Working Families and benefit levels because they're actually just slaves ntil they throw off capitalism and achieve an anarchist society. You might want to duck ten seconds into the conversation. Seriously, if you actually have anything to say about any of the issues I mentioned I'm happy to discuss, but if I wanted empty rhetoric I could always tune in to Destiny TV.
