I think the general population would think both the NF and fairies were just plain weird.

It's not the NF that worry me so much - they are a crazy minority. What bothers me is that there is a lot of racism in the general population. Its a worrying and often repeated experience that someone you meet makes a racist comment (possibly hoping to establish some affinity.) It would be good if people would expect a very negative reaction to being racist rather than the other way around.

I feel particularly sorry for the Asians who seem to get it in the neck from Pukeha and Maori alike. Asian labour built a lot of the infrastructure that we enjoy today and yet they are often treated like second class citizens.
