Brass Razoo solidarity band busked between the official acts at the Wellington Folk Festival.
Our brief appearance netted $421.60 to send the defendants legal aid.
We noticed a particular supportive interest from younger people.
Our efforts meshed in with the initiative of a bloke who had printed and distributed cards reading "Absent Friend"; one of the accused is a skilled musician who was supposed to have been featuring in a band at the festival. There was a a moving solidarity speech from the bandleader of that group. He forthrightly told the audience from the stage:
"This guy's an anarchist,a peace activist and a musician AND HE'S ONE OF US!"
