What amazes me from where I stand as a common nz'r - is the Maori resilience to forgive. Everyday maori encounter bigotry, ignorance, disrespect etc - and yet - what a big heart of love for all people's they have. The ability to forgive people for their wrongs sets this people on a pedastool in my opinion. The wrongs were done, and cannot be forgotten as one cannot undo the past. But true forgiveness is evident in that we can choose to move on from here. The maori people have made this choice, with or without the support of the government. The issues we face as a nation now is: Who shall come with us???
