Last night around 25 animal rights activists protested against a GALA dinner being held at parliament in a deafening protest. A wall of noise greeted the animal abusing scum attending the dinner and many attendees were obviously uncomfortable to be singled out for the role they are playing in the destruction of the planet. The protests were deafening as whistles, megaphones and a kick ass speaker system reverberated across the parliamentary forecourt. Security were extremely aggressive assaulting at least one activist and trying to stop activists from pointing megaphones or speakers at parliament and from chalking on parliamentary grounds. Photos of dozens of attendees to the conference have been taken with activists stationed inside Te papa, outside Te papa, outside hotels, and at dinners capturing the faces of those profiting from the ongoing slaughter of animals.

At Parliament around 15 - 20 police marched in formation around the forecourt with several breaking off to stand behind the protest with a fire extinguisher. Apparently police were worried that fireworks were to be used in an act of protest. Throughout the weekend police have attempted to video protesters and have consistently infringed on our legitimate right to protest. A cow riding a bike rode through parliamentary grounds challenging the guest speaker at the dinner Olympic cyclist Sarah Ulmer to come out and face the wrath of the victims of her profiteering for multinationals.

Following the protest several police cars and about 15 cops followed attendees of the protest around wellington tailing them to their destinations and following cars round in circles. They attempted to intimidate lone protesters into giving their details to the police and were obviously scared that activists may have had further actions planned. One group of protesters shook the police tailing them and chalked and stickered fast food restaurants such as KFC in central wellington.

Everywhere the delegates have gone they have faced opposition and have had to face placards and chants revealing the results of their actions. In future these people will know that if they continue to kill animals that they will have to face people who are determined to hold them responsible for their actions.
