70 People from various groups gathered today in Federation Square, Melbourne, to demonstrate in solidarity with Tuhoe and the the activist community in Aotearoa.
Melbourne activists today gathered in support of the people of Tuhoe and the Aotearoa activist community in the wake of recent police repression.
Robbie Thorpe performed a welcome to country and gave us all a much needed reminder of the struggles of Aboriginal People and how this oppression is felt by indigenous people all over the world.
Other speeches followed by people of Aoteraoa and Australia in support of those arrested and their families. And discussed the issues raised by this crack down in relation to the global trend of the criminalisation of dissent.
Donations were collected for the support fund and cupcakes were enjoyed by all!
