Solidarity Protest in London - Free the Urewera 17!
About 15 people gathered outside the New Zealand High Commission in London today as part of a global day of action in solidarity with political prisoners in New Zealand.
Protesters held banners reading "Activism is not Terrorism" and "Free the Urewera 17" as well as balloons and placards with messages of support for the prisoners. It was a low-key protest which raised awareness by handing out leaflets and talking to passers-by, as well as the New Zealand media who turned up.
In London the Anarchist Black Cross, a prisoner support organisation, has taken up the cause, distributing leaflets and collecting donations.

There were at least three different fliers circulating the anarchist bokfair in London this weekend, as people from different cities had separately thought to make some.
I also spoke to many at the book-fair who learnt about the demo too late to get across London, but had wanted too - and send ther solidarity.
Love, support & solidarity to all of you there resisting state repression in Aotearoa.
