First they came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

Great idea!
We should do something like that in Wellington!

Re: Re: Human Rights Hui in Whanganui-a-Tara

Island bay is Wellington?

Re: Human Rights Hui in Whanganui-a-Tara

Sounds a great hui. One thing. A koha is a gift. If you wish to ask for a koha then u cannot determine the amount. A koha is given with aroha. The giver decides what to give which can be anything from aroha to a cabbage to money and anything else. If you want to suggest an amount which I can understand you want to to cover costs etc it is best just to say that.

Sorry but the word koha is one of the most misunderstood words in Te Reo Maori.

Would be great to have more of these hui around the country to bring all of us together as the pressure goes on not only those in prision but also those trying to care and support their whanau/community.

Unfortunately this is at the same time as the Auckland protest against the Labour Party on the Saturday!
