Toru Voices
The success of Valerie’s book launch has motivated us to hold a speakers evening bimonthly. The first of these evenings will be on the 28th March (this Friday) at the WEA building which is opposite the Art Gallery on Gloucester St. Starting at 7:30pm we will have nibbly foods and three women speaking. International Women’s Day was earlier this month so we have gone with a Women’s theme. There will be a speaker from a local refuge speaking about violence towards women and in particular family violence. Also speaking will be an Ethnic Liason Officer about challenges migrant women face and a woman from the Anarcha Fems will be speaking about radical women and their upcoming hui. Katipo will also have a stall with various pamphlets, patches and books to purchase. We will be taking koha at the door to pay for the venue and food.
Posters and Pamphlets
We have recently uploaded a whole heap of new pamphlets onto the site under our new Pamphlet heading. A lot of the pamphlets are old ones which we have reprinted and a few newbies. We also have black and white posters for sale for a dollar so check them out. If you have any pamphlets which you have written yourself or stumbled across that you think we should publish then flick us an email and we shall see what we can do.

Down with Empire! Up with Spring! A Revolutionary ecological perspective
$8.00
Author: Various
Edition: Pb
Publisher: Rebel Press
Release Date: 2007

DESCRIPTION:
Down with Empire, Up with Spring is a lucid account of the last 15 years of the ecological movement in Britain and the development of their tactics, strategies and vision. Pulled from the British ecological and anarchist journal Do or Die, this work is written in a candid and frank style.
It is both hugely inspiring to those of us involved in ecological struggles here in Aotearoa and provides some quite incredible ideas for action, and it is also helpful in placing these struggles in the context of the general fight against Power and Capital.

I almost forgot about the moon
$19.00
Author: Selwyn Manning, Yasmine Ryan, Katie Small
Edition: pb
ISBN: 0476009359
Publisher: Multimedia Investments Ltd
Release Date: 5/10/2004
144 pages
DESCRIPTION
Justice and human struggle are themes recurring in many major non fiction investigations, but seldom has New Zealand had to confront such a complex series of issues as what is now known as the Ahmed Zaoui case.
Since his arrival at Auckland International Airport on December 4 2002, Ahmed Zaoui's sheer presence has challenged New Zealand's immigration laws and the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service's ability to accurately and independently acquire information.
I Almost Forgot About The Moon examines Ahmed Zaoui's life, interviews his colleagues, his family, political and international commentators, and New Zealand politicians, and investigates why he is considered a danger by Algeria, why he has convictions in Europe, why New Zealand's SIS believed him to be a security risk, why New Zealand's immigration laws are unable to determine a timely outcome, and offers examples of legal reform that would ensure New Zealand remains a just and fair country where an individual's rights are considered equal to those of the state. Let the debate begin!

anyway leaving that aside unless you still what to talk about it-by the way you seem to be getting quite upset about the issue. Really no one has said anything but baseless things about a workers co-op that they most likely have got no idea how it operates

By actively pursuing this method they subvert the current capitalist framework while exploring ideas such as direct democracy and participatory economics via direct action. This is far from capitalistic and infact the model for any real kind of emancipation.
