No to biofuel imports
The Alliance Party says that there should be no importation of biofuels.
Alliance Party transport spokesperson Bob van Ruyssevelt says he supports the call by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, Dr Jan Wright, for the government to scrap the current Biofuels Bill.
"This legislation would mean importing of biofuels from countries where farmers are cutting down scarce rainforests, or converting land from food to fuel production, which is denying cheap food to the world's poor."
He says in the short term the small amounts of New Zealand-made biofuels should be used by big fleet users in the public transport sector.
Mr van Ruyssevelt says this would avoid the need for the unnecessary expenditure on infrastructure involved in requiring all service stations to offer such products.
He says the Alliance Party supports massive investment towards public
transport, including road, rail and shipping, to reduce environmental problems and to improve the access of all New Zealanders to affordable transport.

The trouble is, National is just as bad under the Business Roundtable. So what choice do we have?
How absurd can this be? The majority of NZers are absolutely powerless against the few!

need to unite against those that already are. the buisness roundtable doesnt care which party is 'in power' because it supports them all, because they support it.
they want people to buy, spend, shop, work, and get tired and then watch tv.
