Rickards is the same former former assistant police commissioner who faced charges of gang rape and sexual assault. He was acquitted of charges of rape, acquitted of using a baton to rape a woman but has admitted to being ‘a bit of a tomcat’. He’s admitted that whilst working as a police officer he had sex with young women, group sex with other police officers and sex on the bonnet of a car. He used his position and the power of his uniform to intimidate, abuse and rape women.
He says he did nothing wrong. He also says that his fellow convicted rapist police officers didn’t do anything wrong, either.
Now we discover that while suspended on full pay Clint Rickards has been busy studying law at Auckland University and has decided to apply to be a barrister and solicitor. There’s one more step he has to do though, he has to obtain a character approval certificate. Let’s make it as bloody difficult as possible for him.
We have up until 12th September to make public submissions to the Auckland District Law Society stating why Rickards should not become a lawyer.
We need to stop him.
