Make a Submission Against Rickards' Application to become a lawyer

Any member of the public wishing to comment on the suitability of Clint Rickards being admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand can do so by writing to:
Professional Standards Director, Auckland District Law Society, PO Box 58, Shortland Street, Auckland.

Letters must be received by 4.00 pm Friday week - 12 September.
Criteria: Before granting admission, the ADLS must be satisfied that a candidate "is of good character" and "a fit and proper person" to be admitted. Yesterday some media incorrectly stated that only ADLS members can comment. The ADLS confirmed with me today that every letter received by a member of the public will be attached to Mr Rickard's application, for consideration by the Society.

Therefore, your voice (and letter) will count.

Re: Make a Submission Against Rickards' Application to become a lawyer

A miscarriage of justice is the only way I can describe, how Rickards eluded a GUILTY verdict. How does one explain that so many women came forward to the Op. Austin team. Women all unknown to one another and from various parts of the country. These women, for the most part, told exactly the same stories. Involving the exact same accused. With almost identical MO in each situation. How could that happen? I'm reminded of the "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...... All that aside, Rickard's took FULL advantage of his status as a police officer and the public revelations of the many years of coverups and self preservation splashed across our headlines and tv screens dragged the police force DOWN into the gutter. This man thought he deserved to be our Police Commissioner. His own team kicked him to the kerb and like a rabid dog he turned on his keepers.
The issue here is whether Rickards is eligible for certification of being of "good character". And the answer to that, irrespective of anything else is: This is one man who should NEVER EVER be given a position of any power over any people.
